Workshop on climate justice in environmental migration

Μια ενδιαφέρουσα και επίκαιρη συνάντηση εργασίας (workshop) για την Κλιματική Δικαιοσύνη και την Περιβαλλοντική Μετανάστευση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 16 και 17 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Πανεπιστήμιο Μακεδονίας. Το workshop διοργανώνεται από το Εργαστήριο Διεθνών Σχέσεων και Ευρωπαϊκής Ολοκλήρωσης και την Έδρα Στρατηγικών Σπουδών ΓΕΕΘΑ Θουκυδίδης στο πλαίσιο της 4ετούς δράσης COST Action IS1101 “Climate change-induced migration: Knowledge, law and policy, and theory”.  

Αντικείμενο του workshop αποτελούν η μετανάστευση ή/και επανατοποθέτηση πληθυσμών λόγω της κλιματικής αλλαγής. Τα ζητήματα αυτά χρήζουν συστηματικής μελέτης από τις επιστημονικές κοινότητες αλλά και ανάδειξης στο δημόσιο διάλογο, ιδιαίτερα λόγω του τελευταίου κύματος προσφύγων, το οποίο λαμβάνει διαστάσεις ανθρωπιστικής κρίσης. Στη συνάντηση ειδικοί από την Ευρώπη και την Αμερική θα αναλύσουν θεωρητικά αλλά και πρακτικά θέματα. Από Ελληνικής πλευράς η Δρ. Δήμητρα Μάνου θα αναδείξει τη σύνδεση της προσφυγικής κρίσης με την κλιματική αλλαγή. Στη συνέχεια ο Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής Δημήτρης Σκιαδάς και ο Καθηγητής  Ηλίας Κουσκουβέλης, Κοσμήτορας της Σχολής Κοινωνικών Ανθρωπιστικών Επιστημών και Τεχνών θα αναλύσουν τα σημαντικότερα σημεία της προσφυγικής κρίσης, τα αίτια και τις επιπτώσεις και θα συζητήσουν την κρισιμότητά της για την ασφάλεια και την ευημερία στην Ευρώπη.
